Free Fire landing strategy: how to choose where to drop
Decide what you want from the match
If you are practising fights or hunting eliminations, a busy drop gives you more chances. If you want to climb rank steadily or survive to the late circle, a quieter drop gives you time to loot and heal. Choose before the plane leaves, not while falling.
Hot drops: when they make sense
Landing in a busy area works when your squad is ready to fight immediately and you all agree to land together. Pick the building with the most loot, grab a weapon fast and clear the nearest enemy. Hot drops are high risk and high reward, so use them when you are warmed up and communicating.
Quiet drops: loot, heal, rotate
Smaller towns and edge locations give you time to find armour, medkits and ammunition. The goal is to finish looting early and rotate towards the safe zone before the crowds do. Many strong rank players use this approach because it protects placement.
Read the flight path
The plane's route shows which locations will be crowded. Areas directly under the route fill quickly, while places far to the side are usually quieter. Look at the path and the first circle before you jump.
Plan the first rotation
After landing and looting, decide where you will move when the first circle shrinks. Move early, use cover, and pick up supplies on the way. A planned rotation avoids the common mistake of getting caught in the open.
Practise and adapt
Learn the buildings and loot spots at your favourite drop locations so you can loot quickly. If the same location keeps ending badly, change it. Good players adapt based on results, not habit. If you want to test your skills against real opponents with prize pools, ClassyBattle's tournaments are a good next step.
